Hey friends, happy Wednesday!
Dubsado is celebrating their 5th birthday and I’m joining in to share about why it’s one of my favorite business tools! ?
What is Dubsado?
Dubsado is a CRM that makes owning a business a heck of a lot easier. I just started using it a little over a year ago, and I truly will never be able to go back. Not only can I house all my contracts, invoices, and client communication here (in a separate Portal for each Client,) but I can create and save all my different forms and questionnaires and easily apply them to a project! The automation through Dubsado is unparalleled (think payment reminders, workflows, confirmation emails, etc.) and it’s so easy to stay organized and connected with my clients! But my favorite feature is the design functionality and white labeling.
What is white labeling?
Simple, white labeling is when Dubsado removes their branding from anything my clients see. I’m able to set up the URL and customize all of the design so that my clients never see “Dubsado” anywhere. As a designer, it was important for me to be able to design everything my clients interacted with. Every touchpoint throughout the process needed to be uniquely JAI, including the URL for the Client Portal. It honestly wasn’t very hard either! Here are some instructions on how to do that yourself once you sign up.
Other Features
Lead Capture
I love that Dubsado has contact form integration. That means I can embed my Dubsado lead capture form onto my website, so as soon as someone fills that out, a project is automatically created in Dubsado with all the information they provided. Why is this the best thing ever? Because I don’t have to set up a client and then a project manually! It’s all done for me, and I can respond to the inquiry right there without having to even pull up my email.
Forms and Templates
One of the very first things I did in Dubsado was set up my forms and templates. This included my contracts, but also proposals and questionnaires. Each of these is a template, so I can apply them to a project and customize it to fit the client’s specific needs. I love that no matter how many forms I add to a project, my client can see every single one in their custom Client Portal.
Smart Fields
This is probably the coolest feature. In your forms and templates (or anywhere really, even canned emails,) you can add a Smart Field. Well what the heck is that? It’s a custom field that will fill in something automatically for you. For example, in your canned emails you could set it up to autofill your clients first name in the first line, a project start (or end) date, anything that you’ve got set up for that client already.
One of my favorite uses of this is in my Proposals. After a discovery call, I always send a custom Proposal over. This contains what we discussed, what services I would be providing, and the cost of those services. Instead of having to manually type in the cost breakdown and services, I use Smart Fields to fill this in automatically from the invoice they would be receiving should they choose to move forward! This saves me so much time, and it’s saved in my templates, so I don’t have to spend hours creating these after every discovery call.
Customization
I mentioned the design options and white labeling, but the customization potential goes so much further than that with Dubsado. You’ll be able to completely customize your branding (which will be a great feature to use once we work together to design yours!) as well as design an email signature that shows in your emails that you send through Dubsado.
But my favorite customization feature? You can use Custom CSS to add unique elements to your forms, or change the fonts/colors beyond what is already available in Dubsado! My clients know that everything they get looks just an extension of my website.
What’s the cost?
Dubsado is currently just $30/month or $300/year during their birthday sale (through February 26, 2021)! But if you sign up through this link, you’ll get an additional 20% off!
Now before I give away all my secrets, what do you think? Do you currently use Dubsado? If you don’t yet, would you?
