I'm just a girl. standing in front of a business owner, asking if they've got a brand and website that will sell their work for them when they're off enjoying their life...

Last October, I had the pleasure of working with Aly McCroskey of Wild Cotton Photography, who was in the process of starting a new podcast to connect Christians within the wedding industry! I was, and still am, beyond honored that she chose me for this project! Oh Happy Day Podcast has officially launched, and now I can share all about it with you! ?
In her brand development homework, when asked about the why behind her work, Aly wrote “Wedding vendors give so much to their clients, and often don’t take time to refill their own emotional tank. Its hard to pour into others when you yourself are empty. I want to fill a need for resources and conversations in the wedding industry that combine faith with our work. To encourage Christian women in the wedding industry. To show vendors how their jobs can be more than a paycheck, they can impact the world in big ways.” (updated in 2023 to add: the podcast is still going strong and growing over two years later!)
My goal was to create a brand that would bring hope and encouragement to Christian women in the wedding industry, remind them of the love God has for them and how their work matters. That was bright, fun, and showed how passionate she is about what she does!
Pattern for Oh Happy Day Podcast
Here’s what Aly had to say about working together:
How did you feel about your visual identity before we started working together?
I had no official brand so we were starting from scratch. I had a few ideas in my head, but Jordan really helped turn words/ideas into tangible, visual elements.
How do you feel about your brand now that our project is complete?
I LOVE IT SO MUCH. It fits the mission of my business, the colors represent the happy vibe so well, and its clear and easy to see.
How would you describe your experience working with me?
Amazing! Jordan is so fun, knowledgable, patient and creative. It felt like working with a friend. (We are friends now, right?!) She really had me do a deep dive into the “why” and “who” of my business, which helped clarify a lot of things for me regarding my mission and target audience. Plus- she sends a fun welcome gift which was the sweetest surprise! Can’t recommend her enough.
What do you love most about your new branding?
Its fun. Its easy to read/see. The colors (and color theory behind them) match the goals of my business.
How has your new visual design impacted the way you do business?
It helped guide the colors and content of my social media posts! It looks professional when viewed on podcast directories.
What would you say to a friend who was on the fence about investing in my design experience?
Worth the money 100%. Its like getting logo/branding design and business vision/coaching all rolled into one. You are kind, fun, creative, and who you are on social media is who you are when someone hires you. You are a hard worker, and encourage your clients to invest in themselves. Plus you have a cute dog. 🙂
Anything else you’d like to add?
From our very first phone call, I knew I wanted to work with Jordan. She made the entire process so seamless and fun! Jordan’s extensive knowledge of marketing, color theory and fonts resulted in a brand I love that fits perfectly with the vision for my business. She had become one of my biggest cheerleaders and it truly was like working with a good friend. Hiring her was one of the best decisions I made in 2021!
Beige, boring, and toning yourself down in your business? Not around here! Because with a brand that embraces color, you’ll start owning your boldness, your uniqueness, and everything that makes you, you in your business.
Perfect if you’re not quite ready for a full new website, but still want an elevated “OMG, that’s so you!” feel.
I know you're ready to take your business to the next level...
Think how much easier it would be to attract clients and create a brand that gives you a sense of peace and freedom that no corporate job ever could. You, my friend, would be the creative force your industry needs.
